Framework conditions for sellers

You can offer video footage clips on ClipDealer if you hold the originator right and, where required, any model or property releases for the clip(s). It is important that your material does not infringe copyrights, trademark rights, privacy rights, publicity rights or the rights of third parties.
We are keen to offer as wide a collection of clips as possible for which there will be demand. You can use the existing categories as a guideline for this.
There is no interest in private holiday or home videos.

Royalties

The prices of video footage clips available to buy on ClipDealer depend on their resolution. The clip seller receives a share of the sale for each of his or her clips sold amounting to 50% of the net sale (= net sale price less 4% payment processing fee).
Transfer of the royalties will take place in the middle of the month following the request.
You will receive the following royalties, according to the format:

Technical specifications for video footage clips

  • - Minimum resolution: 720 x 576 pixels (corresponding to PAL), ideally HD
  • - Maximum length: 60 seconds
  • - Formats: Quicktime (.mov), MPEG (.mpeg or .mpg)
  • - We do not want fade-out effects or masks
    - Clips must not have any music in background. Ambient background sounds - good quality assumed - will be accepted.
  • - The clips must not be unnecessarily compressed, since this always leads to losses in quality (no recompression or similar).
  • - The clips must not be artificially enlarged. This only increases the file size, not the quality.

You can offer your sounds or music on ClipDealer if you hold the copyright to the sounds or pieces of music and are not a member of GEMA or any other German or foreign exploitation company.

Technical specifications for audio footage clips

- The file format must be wav, aif or mp3.
- The bit rate must be at least 160 kbit/s.
- The sample rate must be 44.1 or 48 kHz.
- The clips must be between 5 seconds and no more than 5 minutes long.
- Please do not convert mp3 files back to wav or aif files since this only generates bigger files, not better quality.

  • - Minimum resolution: 4 MP (e.g. 2000 x 2000 or 1500 x 2700 pixel), ideally higher
  • - Formats: .jpg
  • - The photos must not be unnecessarily compressed, since this always leads to losses in quality (no recompression or similar).
  • - The photos must not be artificially enlarged. This only increases the file size, not the quality.
  • - Before uploading, please check your photos in full size regarding to sharpness and image quality.
  • Food shots should be pin sharp and appetizing without dust and lint.
  • - Prevent uploading photos with similar shooting position. Choose your favorite photo and upload only this one.
  • - Don't upload the same photo in different tones. The photo in color is enough.
  • - To protect high image quality please prevent creating details of a photo afterwards.

Technical specifications for vectors

  • - Formats: .eps
  • - The width of the graphic/document has to be at least 450 pixel.
  • - For a high quality thumbnail make sure your graphic has approximately the same size as your document.
  • - There is no need to upload a jpg preview picture of your vector graphic. We generate it automatically.
  • - To maximize compatibility please save your graphics for older versions of Illustrator.
